I'm in love with a dress

I love this dress:

And I'm thinking of buying it, except that I'm currently on a diet and hoping to be a bit smaller in a few months. So do I buy a smaller size and hope? I'm thinking this dress might be my prize for losing weight.

Another question: t-shirt underneath or sweater over? Sometimes t-shirts bunch up and make me look middle-heavy (though, in all fairness, I can look pretty middle-heavy on my own), though sometimes it's too hot for a sweater (and sweaters don't always cover the scoopneck).

Such a cute dress! OOOhhh man, that's a huge toughie about the size. I would say to just buy it in your size now so you can enjoy it, but then YUCK if you do that and lose weight and it looks saggy on you. That would stink. So, unfortunately I am no help there. As for shirt under or sweater over. I think shirt under would be better. If you go to Real Deals in Hillsboro, they carry an under shirt by Down East Basics for 10.00. It's made to be a layering piece, so it's tight and won't bunch to much. I love their shirts and own a few. You can also order them on-line at downeastbasics.com. It's called The Wonder Tee:)

This place sells half-shirts so there is no bunching. I hate extra layers, so I would go with this:

Thanks Tonya and Maret for your advice! I think I'm going to wait and buy the dress when I've dropped a few more pounds, but I'm buying a halfshirt today!

Well the one thing with buying it in your size is that you can always get it taken in when you lose weight but can't really do it the other way.
The Down East shirts are really good for wearing under things and they have a nice scoop neck so it doesn't look funny when you wear it under things (vs. a t-shirt where the neck is high and looks like a t-shirt). If it were me, I would probably wear a spaghetti-strap tank under (one with lycra so it stays tight and in place) and then wear either a cardigan or bolero type jacket over it. Although in warm weather I would probably wear it with the Down East shirt.
